WHAT ARE BIOPRATIC PLANTERS MADE FROM?

The Biopratic planter is made from high-density polyethylene, a strong, durable material used to manufacture bottles, Tupperware-type boxes, jerrycans or fuel tanks, etc. This material is food-safe and has been used for many years in pure water plants, milk jugs and medical specimen tests.

HOW ARE BIOPRATIC PLANTERS MADE?

The Biopratic planter is made by rotational moulding by one of our partners with vast experience in this area. They are manufactured in France with an ISO 9001 certified company and we can trace all our products.

HOW LONG DO BIOPRATIC PLANTERS LAST?

The Biopratic planter, depending on the specifications imposed on our manufacturer, can last over 20 years, a lot longer than anything that currently exists on the market, to our mutual satisfaction.

WHY WERE BIOPRATIC PLANTERS NOT DESIGNED IN WOOD OR METAL?

This frequently asked question has 4 simple answers:

– Our planter includes water tanks and we needed a 100% watertight material

– At Biopratic, we contribute to sustainable development, with particular emphasis on the word sustainable: The first environmental consideration when it comes to manufactured products is their sustainability. We estimate that our planters will last for more than 20 years.

Untreated wood is not as weather-resistant as polyethylene and will have a very short lifespan (2 to 3 years), and autoclaved or treated wood, which is more resistant, does not fit in with Biopratic’s philosophy, which is to offer its customers the least polluting product possible.

“Metal was not selected as it is a material that conducts electricity, which could be dangerous both in terms of the electrical equipment used (automatic pump, etc.) and in terms of heavy storms on roofs”.

However, we finish our planters in the aforementioned materials, for those who so wish, with products made in France.

– The Biopratic concept, comprising two different containers with a total weight of 33 kg, is very useful when installing or moving our planters, and the packaging of our products has been designed to fit in lifts.

– The last reason is the absence of rough edges on our planters, such as wood splinters or metal shavings: Our product is smooth and soft to the touch for everyone’s well-being.

HOW RESISTANT ARE BIOPRATIC PLANTERS TO ENVIRONMENTAL AND WEATHER CONDITIONS?

Our planters can withstand extreme temperatures of + 60°C and – 30°C. UV resistance is guaranteed for a minimum of 3 years without any significant colour fading. The product is resistant to hail and can withstand winds of 150 to 200 km/hour thanks to its weight and stability when full.

HOW WERE THE TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BIOPRATIC PLANTERS SELECTED (LENGTH, WIDTH, HEIGHT, WATER TANK CAPACITY)?

At Biopratic, we like things to be simple (not simplistic) and suitable for all environments. Our 1 m², 90 cm high planters containing 200 litres of water have been designed by a gardening enthusiast who has listened to the needs of our users.

The Biopratic planters were designed so they can be delivered upstairs, via most lifts or staircases, and to be assembled and installed as easily as possible.
